OFW functions as a complimentary component in the total educational experience of LGBT students, primarily in the development, evaluation, initiation, and implementation of career plans and opportunities. OFW’s programs, resources, and services provide assistance to students in the cultivation and enhancement of skills to explore career options, master job search techniques and strategies, and research employment opportunities.
Including OFW's annual national career conference, OFW travels the nation presenting on the topic of transitioning from academia to the workforce, attending PRIDE and LGBT events, and visiting college campuses speaking to LGBT campus groups. Additionally, OFW is planning a 2009 west coast conference and currently seeking grants for a
career resource community center.
OFW fundraises and seeks partnerships throughout the year. OFW is currently managed by director Riley Folds, the OFW Board, volunteers, and college interns.
